Beginner's Guide to SuperCity
Jeannette van Leeuwen compiled this guide for beginners 🥰 She is one of the administrators of the Supercity Benelux group on Facebook: https://is.gd/ZmZrBF
Hello, Mayors! Over the years since the game began, many things have changed, but these recommendations still hold true for newer players.
You can play the game in several places, including Facebook Gaming and on the Portal: https://cutt.ly/x4Gujod
When playing on the Portal, make sure to log in correctly. If you’re new, simply click “Play now” to create an account. If you already have an account, always log in using the option at the top.
You can log in in different ways, but usually it's done with Facebook.
I recommend linking an additional account, such as Google and/or Microsoft. This way, if Facebook stops working, you'll still be able to access the game. Please note that setting up alternative connections is only possible while Facebook is still functioning.
Click where the arrow points.
If you click the small triangle icon next to your game ID, a drop-down menu with several options will appear.
Under "My Account," you can also change your profile picture. Click "Change" and then "Save."
On Facebook Gaming, you often have an avatar as your profile picture:
If you've made a mistake logging in, you can log out using “Log out”.
Every day you log in, you can claim a Seasonal gift by clicking the '+' sign next to the Superbucks scale. The timer resets after 12 hours.
Logging in daily is important because it grants you a daily bonus. On the fifth consecutive day, you can choose between 7 Superbucks (SBs) or a Casino chip.
SBs are especially valuable if you have few or no casinos, while chips are essential for building them — you need 4 different chips to construct one casino.
⚠️ If you miss a day, the bonus resets to Day 1.
In our group, we recommend alternating between SBs and chips—choose SBs the first time, chips the next — to gradually build up your casinos while still earning SBs.
Casinos are a long-term investment but definitely worth it:
They generate 1 SB every 3 days, and production can be sped up with help from neighbors.
You can have a maximum of 7 Casinos.
This screenshot shows my SuperCity Daily Bonus — you’ll notice that Casino chips no longer appear. That’s because I built all 7 Casinos a long time ago.
Once you’ve built all 7 Casinos, chips will no longer be offered in the Daily Bonus.
Quests and Locations
On the left side of the screen, you'll see your tasks.
At the beginning, it's best to focus on these first — they help you expand your city and unlock other locations.
There has always been a limit of 10 tasks that you can add to your “To-do” list, to help you avoid getting overwhelmed with too many open tasks.
✅ Always check the task details in the Help Center for useful tips and guidance.
When you open it, it looks like this:
- The first tab, "Quests," contains the assignments.
The second tab “Trade and Logistics” shows the different locations and other objects:
Department of Architecture
At level 39, you unlock the Department of Architecture.
This building allows you to upgrade certain buildings, which gives two key benefits:
Upgraded buildings can be placed side by side, making it easier to collect profits.
They also produce additional resources, helping your city grow more efficiently.
💡 Only upgraded versions can be placed next to each other—regular ones still require spacing.
The Department of Architecture now has two tabs.
- The first tab displays regular upgrades:
- And the second shows the Megabuildings, which can only be built much later:
There is also an icon on the left side of the screen that allows you to work on the upgrades:
Super Events
These are the first Super Events in the City.
Each Event must be completed before the next one can begin and the correct level is reached.
The Flying Saucer quest doesn't have a timer; the following quests all have a timer. It's important to complete these quests because they gradually build up your city, and once you can open the next country, you'll have more space to build. In any case, the Super events also provide energy to buildings, so you'll need a lot of it.
💡 If the timer runs out and you haven’t completed the quest, don’t click "Use" right away.
Make sure you’ve collected all required resources first — resources will be saved when the quest restarts, and you will not lose your progress, but items that need to be produced will have to be recreated.
Super Events in Snow Plateau:
Super Events in Highland:
Super Events in Enchanted Valley:
Super Events in Sands:
Super Events in the Islands:
After unlocking your first location and completing at least one quest in another location, you’ll receive the Wind Rose quest. Once you build and place the Wind Rose, it becomes the entry point where visitors enter your game.
You can get to the other locations in 2 ways:
- via the map,
- or by clicking on certain buildings in the City.
For example, by clicking on the Hydroplane, you go directly to the Highland.
By clicking on the Caravan, you will go directly to the Sands.
Clicking the plate icon covered with a blue dome at the Seaport will take you directly to the Islands.
Expeditions
There are usually two expeditions each month (though the schedule may vary): a Story (Classic) Expedition and an Archaeological Expedition.
The Classic Expedition features only one expedition location, so you stay within the same area throughout. This means you won’t lose progress even if you forget to collect everything right away.
Always follow the quests on the left side during the expedition.
With the Classic Expedition, you can earn buildings that generate seasonal currency — more details on this are provided further below.
The Archaeological Expedition becomes available at level 15 and typically includes multiple locations.
If you don’t have the museum yet, you will receive it automatically when your expedition begins. The museum:
Unlike the regular expedition, the Archaeological Expedition requires you to move between multiple locations, so it’s important to remember to collect everything you need. As always, follow the instructions on the left side of the screen.
In this expedition, you collect shards to restore statues. Once you complete an exhibit, you can place it in one of your museum’s rooms. You can have up to three rooms, and each room generates daily profit.
The Archaeological Museum provides 18 seasonal coins every day, which is a great bonus.
Here’s what the Archaeological Expedition interface looks like:
Then you also get an extra bonus of 50 purple energy every 12 hours, and the counter increases from 200 to 250 purple energy:
Tiny shards
And furthermore, if you are in a Country Club, you can also get Artifact fragments , which replace 5 tiny shards, and using them can help you speed up the restoration of some exponents.
To complete an exhibition, you need 150 Tiny Shards, but if you also have Artifact Fragments, you only need 115 Tiny Shards + 7 Artifact Fragments.
Expeditions use a different type of energy, purple energy. If you run out of purple energy, 1 unit is added every 30 seconds.
Normally, the counter runs up to 200, but sometimes if you produce more during a quest, it's added to the counter. Furthermore, you receive 100 extra energy every 12 hours (you can only collect this if the counter is below 200).
You can always see in the game how much purple energy there is in total, even when there's no expedition.
You can see it by clicking "Adventures."
There has been some change in the expeditions for a while now, there are now a special kind of chests that you can open with a Gold key.
You can get them at the Cargo Helicopter in the City.
To use the Cargo Helicopter, you must first complete 16 stages of another quest:
Hike in the Wildlife Reserve. This quest has no timers and can be viewed here in the game, under the Adventures icon.
How do I find my Game ID?
Although your Game ID is always visible at the top of the Portal, you can't copy it there. However, there are icons at the bottom of the game.
First click on “Friends”, then you will see this:
Then click "Find Friends" and you'll see this: then click "Copy code" and you can place it wherever you like.
We, in our Benelux group, always recommend saving your Game ID in a document on your PC, because sometimes you might need to contact Support, and if the game doesn't open, you'll be blocked.
This way, you can always find it again.

Players' Hint
There’s an unwritten rule players have followed for years: if you see hearts next to a building, it means others want you to click on that building.
On the other hand, if you see stop signs, it means you should absolutely not click on that building.
Cellar Quest
Usually, there is a Cellar Quest every month that requires green energy. If you earn green energy in other games, it will be stored in this game. However, you can only see your green energy when the Cellar Quest is active.
Friends
Friends/neighbors are very important in the game. You can add them in several ways. The easiest way is to click "Find Friends" in the bottom left corner, then "Friend Invitations". You'll see this: click "Accept."
The second way to add friends is if you know their Game ID. First, click on “Find Friends,” then select the third tab called “Find Friends.” At the bottom, enter their Game ID in the “Enter the code here” field. You can also add people from the suggested list. Neighbors can click on your buildings, and each click reduces the collection time by 30 minutes. You also need friends (neighbors in the game) to request products or members, for example, for the Club Party.
From level 30, you can join a Country Club. As a member, participating in club activities rewards you with additional resources—like artifact fragments during the Archaeological Museum expedition. The Eco Patrol assignment often asks you to assist six club members, and you can also request other products from them within the club.
Explanation of the Top Bar
The first tab shows your game level.
Advancing to the next level is important because it unlocks new tasks. As your level increases, you’ll need more experiment points to progress; each click earns you one experiment point.
In the second tab, you'll see your Energy level.
You'll initially have little energy, but you can also ask your neighbors for it. This energy is provided in the form of three energy bottles, but you can only have 30 of these bottles in storage, so use those first (they'll be added to the tab) and then gradually accept them. (Information on where this is listed will follow later.)
In the third tab, you'll see your Goods.
You receive goods during production, and you need them at the shops to produce something.
In the fourth tab you can see the number of Coins you have.
In the fifth tab, you'll see the number of Superbucks.
You can sometimes earn Superbucks by completing certain tasks, and you also receive a Superbuck when you level up.
The sixth tab shows your seasonal currency. This season, it's Daffodils.
You need this to purchase certain buildings and complete certain tasks, among other things. These currencies change every three months; any remaining currency before the exchange is exchanged at a 5:1 ratio.
March through May: Daffodils
June to August: Pearls
September to November: Candies
December to February: Glass Baubles
In the seventh tab, you can see how many Piastres you have.Piastres are a currency used only in the Bay. You can enter the Bay if you are at least level 23 and have completed the Superliner.
Finally, in the eighth tab, you'll see the number of Chefcoins.
Chefcoins are a currency used only in the Islands. You can start the Islands quests after the Seaport has been built in the City.
Building Upgrade Plans
You can obtain Building Upgrade Plans through the quest “A Trip to the Countryside,” which becomes available at level 60. To access it, click on the apple or honey symbol next to the Bus Station in the city.
All quests there have a 7-day timer. Occasionally, you can also earn Building Upgrade Plans during competitions.
Production buildings
Production buildings like the Cargo Port should always be in use. Initially, only one lock is open, but later you can open more, and the materials for these are always needed.
Helper Buildings
Once you’ve unlocked more locations, you can complete map object quests there. These quests reward additional bonus buildings, called helper buildings, which provide useful items you need for your active quests.
If you don’t have any active quests, they may instead provide energy bottles. Other helper buildings can sometimes be built or purchased with Superbucks.
For example, the Mystery Castle in the Snow region can be built from level 100+. Completing its quest within 14 days may earn you an extra helper building.
And Cloud-high Resort in the Highland, this can be built from level 105+, there is no timer on this.
And an example of a freestanding helper building, this one can be placed anywhere: Neuschwanstein Castle, you can buy it with Superbucks.
Another recommendation is to always click slowly, otherwise you might accidentally use Superbucks. If that happens, you can contact Support and get them refunded, but you can only do this three times per year. One building where you don't get superbucks back is the Academy of Whiteart, which is located in the City.
The various icons at the bottom.
Some have already been mentioned.
You can search for a building using this search tool:
You can go to the Country Club clicking this icon:
With this tool you can perform various actions:
Clicking the map icon, you can go to other locations (Sands, Bay, etc.)
Here you can see the Inventory.
And there you can also see where the energy cans are:
And here is the Storage icon:
The buildings in the Storage are divided into categories:
And lastly, the Shop icon: Also organized by categories:
There are a few more icons at the bottom right — one of them lets you switch to full screen.
Clicking the camera icon lets you take a screenshot within your game.
Here, you can access and adjust your game settings:
On the right side, there are sometimes assignments that can also be done with a low level, such as "Wheel of Fortune", where you get emeralds that you can exchange for buildings in the Event store.
And also the “Treasure Hunt” gives coins, which you can exchange for useful gifts in the Event store.
Recently, the monthly game program has changed.
In addition to the aforementioned games, the program now alternates between the Calendar challenge in the first month, the City Fair in the following month, and the Train challenge in the third month. These challenges can only be started at a higher skill level (60+).
Enjoy playing SuperCity 🥰
