So what happened next?

- I can't believe we're going to the seaside together. I'm so happy, Sophie!
- Yes, John! I can't wait to get there! Just you, me, and a luxury hotel! Awesome!
- Oh, a text message! Let's see what's in there.
- Probably a reminder that it's time to check in for the flight. Let's quickly choose seats!

“Attention all rangers! A magnitude 10 storm passed through the Golden Forest National Park area last night. A general assembly is called to deal with the aftermath. Assembly time and location: 8:00 a.m. at the main entrance to the park. Full equipment and a first aid kit are obligatory.”

- Disaster! The Golden Forest Park was damaged by a storm, I have to help!
- Don't panic! I'm going with you, we'll fix everything quickly, and then we'll fly off on vacation!

The park was unrecognizable. The once tall trees were broken like matchsticks. Their roots stuck out from under the ground. The black holes in the ground left by the roots resembled wounds.

The Master Class Meadow, once full of laughter, now looked like a battlefield. Picnic tables had been overturned, and benches had been torn from their places and scattered around. The Forest Museum, which had recently welcomed guests, now resembled an abandoned fortification. Paths were hidden under piles of rubble, bridges over streams had been washed away.

It was as if nature had thrown off the veil of peacefulness and reminded everyone of its ferocious power.

- What a horror, we'll have to rebuild everything from scratch!
- But that's great, John! It's a chance to turn the park into a really cool place!
- What are you talking about?
- A fancy glamping site here, a trendy restaurant there. It'll be just great!
- We'll discuss that later. First, we need to clear everything out.

John and Sophie began to delve deeper into the forest, collecting debris left by the storm into piles and restoring buildings. The Steps Campsite, the Master Class Meadow, and the Forest Museum all regained their former splendour.

- Dear John, you've become quiet. Is something wrong?
- Everything in this park reminds me of my Grandpa. Golden Forest is his brainchild. He once built this campsite and the museum... And now it all lies in ruins.
- Darling, don't worry, we will restore the park and make it even better!
- There you go again! This will kill the whole point of Golden Forest! How can you get closer to nature while living in a hotel?!
- No, you explain to me how you can relax in a wooden shack without a spa?! You yourself don't understand what you're giving up!

Remaining with their own opinions, John and Sophie continued to explore the wounded forest. Together with other rangers and volunteers, they restored fire towers and bird feeders.

But the park is home to not only birds, but also animals – they need to be taken care of too. Sophie prepared food for the animals in the restored field kitchen.

However, John's stubbornness, his unwillingness to make the world around him even a little more modern and comfortable, did not give Sophie any peace. Everything I like, he does not like, and vice versa! Why can't he just admit that I will do a great job of modernizing this park! How can we be together if he does not understand me?

The entrance to the forest museum used to be decorated with charming wooden sculptures. But a storm tore them out of place and threw them to who knows where. They must definitely find the sculptures!

- John, were you talking about these carved animals? I like this sculpture! The bear looks so cute!
- You found it! It's a keepsake for me. My Grandpa carved the bear to decorate the museum. And I helped him - I carved the right ear of this bear.
- Is it that important to you?
- Of course! It was my Grandpa who showed me the beauty of nature. Many buildings here preserve the memory of him. And it's important to me that this memory does not disappear from this place.
- Oh, John... I was selfish. Now I understand why you don't want to change anything here.

Step by step, the Golden Forest was regaining its former appearance. And very soon, a new generation of young nature lovers will come here on a trip. And John will teach them how to pitch a tent and make a fire, just like his grandfather once taught him.

The world is changing so quickly, but some things should remain the same.
